We use special verbs when talking about moving in a form of transportation. How many of these have you done in a vehicle?
| take off | Take off is when a vehicle leaves the ground and flies up into the air. Airplanes and helicopters take off. |
| land | When vehicles come from the air to the ground they land. |
| start up | To start up a vehicle means to turn it on and get it ready to move. |
| brake | To brake is to slow down or stop a vehicle. |
| speed up | To speed up is to go faster. |
| slow down | To slow down is to go slower. |
| turn | To turn means moving the vehicle left or right. |
| honk | To honk means to sound your horn. |
| sail | To sail is to move a vehicle across water. |
| crash | To crash is to hit something with your vehicle. Sometimes vehicles crash into other vehicles. |
