What does "possessive" mean? Possessive means something belongs to you. A possessive noun help describe what things belong to which people! Take a look at the examples below:

The dog's ball.

My mom's car.

My brother's backpack.
Possessive Nouns
Possessive nouns are normal nouns that are changed to become possessive. You add an apostrophe (') + s after singular nouns to form the possessive.
- Normal noun: brother
- Possessive noun: brother's
In the example above, "brother" is the normal noun. When you add 's to the end, it becomes possessive ("not" plural). Let's use this in a sentence.
