Full Verbs that are Dynamic

Most full verbs are dynamic. These verbs are usually physical actions which you can see somebody doing. These verbs can be used in both simple and continuous tenses:

  • to run
  • to walk
  • to eat
  • to fly
  • to say
  • to touch
  • eat dinner every day. (Present Simple)
  • am eating dinner now. (Present Continuous)

Full Verbs that are Stative

These verbs are usually things you cannot see somebody doing. They are usually not used in continuous tenses. They include:

  • believe
  • dislike
  • doubt
  • hate
  • know
  • like
  • love
  • prefer
  • realize
  • remember
  • see (understand)
  • think / feel (have an opinion)
  • understand
  • want
  • wish

Senses:
