Most people prefer relaxing vacations where they can take a break and forget about their regular lives. For some people, normal getaways are too tame. They prefer extreme holidays! It is just the kind of break some people need. Welcome to the extreme holiday industry, where there are no leisurely walks along the beach!

If the thought of a normal ski vacation sounds boring to you, then this trip might be more appealing. In British Columbia, Canada, you can go on exciting heliskiing adventures. In heliskiing, skiers are flown to remote mountaintops by helicopter and are dropped off to ski alone. Many people prefer heliskiing to skiing at resorts, because it gives them the chance to ski on fresh powder. The only downside is that you have to be able to afford your own private helicopter!

For adventure seekers, don't leave British Columbia without visiting Rocky Mountain Adventure Park. The Golden Sky Bridge located in this park is Canada's highest suspension bridge. It is 426 feet above the ground with a breathtaking view of the mountains. If you want to experience its untamed wilderness, try exploring its trails.

If the sky is more of your domain, then you can try the Sky Zipline. It's a 1,000-foot zipline that is 500 feet above the ground. It allows the thrill-seekers to take in the expansive views of the canyon, valley, and waterfall. The Giant Canyon Swing is not a swing you would find at a playground. This contraption throws the swingers over the edge of the canyon. But don't worry, the swinging mechanism kicks in which allows the riders to sway side to side above the canyon. Just sit back and enjoy the majestic views.

If the darkness doesn't make you apprehensive, then the next getaway is for you! Most people go to Florida for scuba diving, but diving in caves adds an extra layer of excitement. With trained cave divers as leaders, tourists on these vacations explore the submerged passages of Florida's many caves. In the total darkness of the caves, the portable lights from divers are the only source of light. But once they shine on the sights, it is spectacular to see the underwater world.

Have you ever wondered what hamsters feel like when they are put inside rolling balls? Well, now you have a chance to find out. In Dorset, England, you can go on zorbing vacations. Zorbing is pretty simple. Participants get strapped into a large, inflated ball and rolled down a hill. Some people even prefer not to be strapped down, so that they can bounce around inside! It's a strange activity with no rules or objectives, but it's an experience you'll most likely never forget.

Just in case all of these vacations are still too tame for you, you have the option of scuba diving with sharks. Tiger Beach, in the Bahamas, is home to hammerhead sharks and other large carnivorous fish. It has clear waters, and you would be sure to encounter a vast range of marine life. There are tiny little critters and some of the most fearsome predators in these waters. Unlike other shark diving experiences, this encounter is cage-free. There are no barriers whatsoever between the guests and the sharks. Now, that's an extreme vacation!

We are guests when visiting the wilderness. Treat nature and its inhabitants equitably, after all, we wouldn't make a mess at our friend's home, would we? Make sure you don't take what belongs to nature, and don't leave anything behind either.

If you are interested in extreme vacations with far-flung destinations, the choices are abundant. Is there an unforgettable trip you want to add to your bucket list?
