- demonstrate understanding of some basic vocabulary connected to interactions with patients;
- identify and demonstrate the ability to use universal facial expressions;
- compare the use of facial expressions in your country with those used in the US;
- watch a short video about how to use and pronounce the idioms including happy as a clam, tickled pink, over the moon, in seventh heaven;
- read, listen to, and demonstrate understanding how to introduce yourselves to patients;
- watch and demonstrate understanding of the content of two interactive videos that show positive and negative examples of interacting with patients;
- demonstrate listening comprehension and a knowledge of basic writing conventions by completing dictations of several sentences;
- reflect on your learning in a written/oral journal format.
