In the deepest part of the ocean, it is dark and cold.
Sunlight cannot get down here.
There are no plants because there is no sunlight.
There is no life down here.
Or is there?
Actually, there is a lot of life in the deep sea!
Some of the most extraordinary animals on Earth live in the deep sea.
Because it is so dark, many of these animals make their own lights.
Many of these animals have found ways to hunt and eat.
Some of them can smell or hear very well.
We know so little about the deep sea and the animals that live there.
There are many animals down there that humans can only imagine.
Maybe one day you can become a scientist and help us learn more about the deep sea.
