Present perfect tense tells us what has happened before. It is formed with:

has/ have + past participle verb

  • I have read this book.
  • You have eaten sushi before.
  • She has been to China.
  • He has driven a race car before.
  • It has been cold for a few days.
  • We have lived here since 2010.
  • They have moved.

Some Past Participle Verbs:

  • Be-was/were-been
  • Go-went-gone
  • Eat-ate-eaten
  • Read-read-read
  • Drive-drove-driven
  • Live-lived-lived
  • Move-moved-moved
  • Fly-flew-flown
