“every”

We use “every” to talk about an action that happens often over time.

  • day → I go to school every day.
  • night → She eats dinner at 6 o’clock every night.
  • week → We have chicken every week.
  • month → Ana goes to the beach every month.
  • year → Alex and Arthur fly to Hawaii every year.
  • Monday → Every Monday, I have a basketball game.
  • Tuesday → They play soccer every Tuesday.
  • April → Mexicans celebrate Children’s Day every April.
  • December → Every December, it snows in Canada.

  • on the weekend → Paul eats pancakes on the weekend.
  • in the morning → I have a healthy snack in the morning.
  • in the afternoon → Sue bakes cookies in the afternoon.
  • in the evening → I read the newspaper in the evening.
  • at night → They eat hot dogs late at night.
