There are some books that are works of art on top of being literary masterpieces. If you look at some famous books, the illustrations are just as famous as the writing.

Picture books are not just for kids. Dr. Seuss's "Oh the Places You'll Go" is a very simple picture book intended for kids, but many adults receive and give them as gifts when they graduate from university!

You'd think that picture books are easy to write, but they're not. It takes real skill to be able to tell a good story well with such a limited number of words.

Picture book authors also have to understand young children and use words that they can understand. It can be hard keeping a young child engaged in a story.

Practice reading those sentences aloud and record your voice or say the sentences out to your class.
