Terry Fox was a hero who also inspired a lot of people. Terry Fox had only one leg. His other leg was amputated because he had a type of cancer.
Terry Fox never let his disabilities stop him. He embarked on a cross-Canada run in 1980 to raise money for cancer research.
Although he sadly died and did not make it all the way across, he inspired many people and every year, runners in over 60 countries run to raise money just like Terry Fox. Over $50 million has been raised so far!
