Nuclear waste is often stored by companies. Over time, the waste will lose its toxicity and then can be disposed of.

When drilling and shipping fossil fuels, oil spills are sometimes accidentally released into the ocean. Since oil has to be removed from the surface of the water manually, cleaning up can take a very long time.

Trees and other plants can be used to remove greenhouse gases from our atmosphere. This is because they use carbon dioxide in the daytime to photosynthesize.

However, the best way to reduce pollution is to prevent it from happening in the first place! That is why 'reduce' is the most important of the "Three R's": reduce, reuse and recycle.
