Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a preview of Grammar 9-2.

Intro Student 1 Student 2

  • Students work in pairs and open the corresponding pages below. On each page, students are given speaking prompts. These prompts include phrases with verbs in their base form along with the past simple forms in both the positive and negative in parentheses. They are to say these prompts to their partner.
  • The partner listens to the prompt and then makes a positive or negative sentence about themselves in the past simple, using the prompt.
  • Students should switch roles after each turn.
