Describe the objects according to their most dominate feature(s). Work with a partner and describe each object as fully as possible.
Describing Objects
In describing objects consider giving accurate information as to the size, weight, shape, pattern, colours, origin and material. Remember that we do not string adjectives one after the other in description as this makes the task sound unnatural. The necessary descriptive information can be given in separate sentences.
Example
The beautifully bond large heavy old gilded Moroccan leather photo album was found in the basement.
This sounds unnatural and uninteresting.
Gradable adjectives
Gradable Adjectives: "...er", "...est" are often modified by the following common Adverbs of Degree.

Example
She was given a rather small but quite pretty bunch of autumn flowers for her birthday.
Compare
She was given a small but pretty bunch of autumn flowers for her birthday.
What is the difference in the two examples? Do you prefer one over the other? Why?
Ungradable / Extreme Adjectives
Ungradable/Extreme Adjectives: ones which are not formed with "...er" or "...est" are often modified by the following common extreme Adverbs of Degree.
