- enhance listening skills by identifying and repeating polite suggestions from a video;
- notice and produce connected speech (eg What if….? becomes Wadif…);
- pronounce and use suggestions such as What if we..., How about we..., Why don't we..., What do you think about V+ing…;
- demonstrate understanding of how to use and pronounce the idiom to be swamped appropriately;
- make and respond positively and negatively to polite suggestions;
- demonstrate listening comprehension and a knowledge of basic writing conventions by completing dictations of several sentences;
- compare the use of suggestions and responses in your language with that of the US;
- reflect on your learning in a written/oral journal format.
