Talk about it

How do you make suggestions in your language(s)?

  • Do you use specific suggestion language?
  • Is there a polite way and a more polite way?
  • Do you vary your pitch to sound more polite?
  • Who do you speak the most politely to? Who do you not speak politely to?

How about ‘connected speech’? We say Whaddyathink? Djawanna go? and other connected speech when speaking fast in English. Do you do the same thing in your language(s)? Explain.
