Softball Saturdays

Group Description Event

Example image

Softball Saturdays is a group for softball lovers of all abilities. Every Saturday, we meet to play softball recreationally, socialize, and develop our skills. We form new teams randomly each week, so there’s no long-term rivalry and nobody’s picked last. While we enjoy friendly competition, our primary purpose is having fun! If you’ve never played softball before, don’t worry! We welcome beginners and our organizers are always ready to show you the ropes.

We have the diamond until 3:30pm, and most of us will head out for a beer afterwards.

Ukulele Orchestra

Group Description Event

Example image

We are a group of ukulele players of varying ages and abilities. We get together every other Tuesday evening at the Old Town Cafe to play together and have fun. Sessions are lead by members on a rotating basis. While we welcome beginners, new players should know basic chords and strumming techniques and have some experience reading tablature in order to fully participate. Our evenings are relaxed and fun with a variety of music styles.

The jam will kick off at 7:30pm, but members usually start to arrive at around 7pm to grab a drink and get comfortable. We’ll be playing until 9:30pm, and some of us will stick around after for an informal social.

East Van Supper Club

Group Description Event

Example image

East Van Supper Club is a group of twenty- and thirty-something foodies from East Vancouver who meet to share delicious food and great conversation twice a month. Our events take place in members’ homes, with a different person hosting each time. We believe that welcoming others into our homes and sharing a meal together is the best way to make new friends. We want everyone to feel welcome and have a good time, so we avoid taking ourselves (and our food!) too seriously.

Friday, September 27
Supper #27

Hosted by Michael Smith
From East Van Supper Club

Michael has kindly agreed to host our next supper at his beautiful apartment just a ten minute walk from Commercial-Broadway. Please arrive by 7:30pm ready for dinner to be served at 8pm. Michael will be providing all food, but please bring something to drink and $5 per person to cover the cost of the food. Please also let Micheal know at least four days in advance if you have any dietary requirements. As this event has limited space, please say if you are no longer able to attend so that we can make sure that as many people as possible can join in and avoid wasting food.
