Questions in the Simple Past with "be"

In this lesson, we'll be looking at how to ask "yes/no" questions as well as information questions in the simple past using the verb "be."


Simple Past Yes/No Questions with "be"

To form "yes/no" questions in the simple past with "be," simply reverse the order of the subject + was/were and add a question mark at the end. For example, if the sentence is: "I was happy," the yes/no question would be "Was I happy?" Take a look at the following table to see the answers to the yes/no questions you can form:
