In an indirect question, the subject comes before the verb, not after it.

  • What time is it?
  • What is their CEO’s name?
  • How old is the boss?
  • Where are they?
  • I don’t know what time it is.
  • I don’t know what their CEO’s name is.
  • I don’t know how old the boss is.
  • Please tell me where they are.

In an indirect question, do not use the helping verb do.

  • What does the bank want?
  • What do the partners do?
  • Who did you see?
  • Where did our clients go?
  • How did you get to LA?
  • I don’t know what the bank wants.
  • I don’t know what the partners do.
  • Please tell me whom you saw.
  • Tell me where our clients went.
  • Tell me how you got to LA.
