Subject Verb Agreement
A singular subject needs a verb in the singular form, and a plural subject needs a verb in the plural form. Here are some basic examples of subject / verb agreement:
Singular Subject & Singular Verb
- The student goes to the airport after school.
Plural Subject & Plural Verb
- The students do their homework together in the evening.

Indefinite Pronouns

everything | everyone | everybody | either |
anything | anyone | anybody | neither |
nothing | no one | nobody | one |
Indefinite pronouns are singular, so they need a singular form verb:
- Everyone in the tower helps clean up the tower cab.
- One of the people I met was a radar controller.
- Neither of the aircraft is my favorite.
