Verb + Object + Infinitive
In this third verb pattern, we use an object (a person or thing) between the verb and the infinitive:
The man begged me to give him a flight in my Cessna 340.
The instructor allowed the student to go to the aircraft.
Let's invite George to fly with us.
This verb pattern is possible with the following verbs:
- advise
- allow
- invite
- order
- remind
- tell
My father advised me to obtain my pilot license before starting university.
Captain, could you tell the navigator to be quiet please?
Would you please remind me to contact Jeff about his Cessna Citation?
