Gerunds are verbs that end in ~ing and work as a noun in a sentence. They are found in places where we usually use a noun:
- Working in healthcare is a challenging.
- Isolating that patient may be impossible.
- We were talking about increasing your salary.
- Please continue counting your tablets by fives.
We can make negative gerunds by using not + gerund.
- Not having medical credentials is a problem if you want to get a good health care job.
- Have you ever considered not working at that hospital?
