Expressing Quantity

Students practice the many quantifiers in English as well as when and how they are to be used.

Determiners: Some, Any, and No

Students review basic rules as well as learn new ones exploring the complexities of these essential words.

3-1 Quantifiers

Students learn which quantifiers can be used with both count and uncount nouns, count nouns only, uncount nouns only, singular count nouns only, and plural count nouns only.

3-2 Some / Any / No

Students learn how to use some, any, and no in affirmative and negative sentences, questions, requests, offers, affirmative sentences with negative meanings, and sentences that emphasize the negative.

Students learn higher-level rules for using many and much as well as both formal and informal alternatives, the different ways one can describe all or every, as well as the subtle differences expressions such as few and a few.

Students examine the organization of an opinion-based paragraph, then arrange jumbled paragraphs in a logical order.

TED ED video explainng what vitamins do to our body and their benefits and harms.

3-2 Superbugs!

Video-listening activity based on the evolution of superbugs and humanity's influence. 

 
3-1 Unit Introduction

Unit introduction conversation activity. (group work)

3-2: Vocabulary Roleplay

Groups discuss and roleplay a medical scenario in a variety of jobs. 

3-3 Photo Discussion

Students generate photos to match unit vocabulary and discuss with the class.
