When you think of how people search for a cure for global problems such as climate change, what do you imagine? Scientists working in a laboratory or out in the field collecting samples? As we've learned in previous units, a huge part of identifying and solving problems is data analysis.

These days--with the prevalence of cell phones and web tracking--there is more data easily available than there ever has been before. Also, with the development of crowdsourcing, finding people with great ideas is also easier than ever. In this lesson, we'll examine one organization's attempt to use both data analysis and crowdsourcing to fight climate change.
