The first Body paragraph of an Essay begins with a Topic Sentence that introduces the main idea of your paragraph. However, you can not simply start the next Body paragraphs in the same way and must link from one to the next with a transition idea. This sentence is a bridge from one body paragraph to the next that helps the essay progress move smoothly. You can use simple transition words and phrases such as in addition, furthermore, or moreover, but more useful transitions not only move to the next point, but also show how the topic of one paragraph relates logically to the topic of the next. This linking of the ideas of each paragraph makes the overall focus of the essay clear to the reader and their experience will be far more enjoyable.
