Use

We use the Present Continuous to talk about actions happening now:

driving

Jack is driving.

kid on the phone

Mark is speaking to his mom on the phone.

class

We are listening to the teacher.

driving

They aren't driving safe.

Have + things / family members is not an action. Do not use the Present Continuous for this meaning:

  • I am having two brothers.
    • I have two brothers.
  • Susan is having a new car.
    • Susan has a new car.
