An important part of active listening is using the information presented in the introduction of a talk in order to predict the direction of the lecturer's ideas. You will hear a series of short listenings, each of which is an introduction to a longer lecture. After each is played, discuss what was said with your group and predict the main point and direction of the lecture.
Listen for key devices such as these which indicate the start of a main idea.
