What about kids?
There’s a Children’s Health Insurance Program for kids. Have you heard about it?
What do you know about it?
What do you want to know?
We sometimes use a KWL chart to help us organize our thoughts before studying more about something. A KWL chart has three columns you can write in:
- K: in the Know column write anything you know about the Children’s Health Insurance Program;
- W: in the Want to Know column write questions you have about things you don’t know but want to know;
- L: in the Learned column write what you have learned about the Children’s Health Insurance Program. (Leave the Learned column blank for now.)
Make a KWL chart like this:

A downloadable version of the KWL chart is in the lesson Objectives & teacher resources.
