Open your journal in your folder on Google Drive.

Your goal is to write at least 100 words in the time given. Don’t worry about perfect grammar or spelling. Try to type as much as you can without stopping. If you run out of ideas on the topic, then write about a different topic.

The goal is to work on improving your writing fluency!

Quote:

“The city of San Francisco, California, was looking for a cheaper source of water. City leaders wanted to dam the Hetch Hetchy Valley to make a reservoir, and pipe water into the city. Supporters of this project argued that the valley would not be missed. Muir disagreed. He wrote that the ‘Hetch Hetchy Valley, far from being a plain, common rock-bound meadow…[was] a grand landscaped garden, one of Nature’s rarest and most precious mountain temples’” (Warrick 97).

Prompt:
Imagine that your favorite place in your country was about to be destroyed. Write a public announcement that will be broadcast on the local radio station to try to convince your community not to destroy this place. Include at least three specific reasons, and try to make ethos, pathos, and logos appeals.
