Discuss the following warm-up questions:
- What is “bias”
- What is a conservative?
- What is a liberal?
Work in a group of 2-4 students.
- One group should open the first website, and another group the second. If there are three groups, use the last link as well
- As a class, find a news story on each site about the same thing. Have your teacher help you.
- Read the story in your group.
- As a group, write your opinion of this news story in the exercise.
- When you are finished, read what you wrote to the class. Discuss whether or not you think there is bias in these stories.
