Networking: Follow-up

After you network with someone, you usually need to take the next step. For example, sometimes you need to call someone. Sometimes you need to send someone your resume. This is called follow-up.

How to follow-up after you network

When you call someone to follow up after networking, you need to do these things:

  • Say your name.
  • Say the name of the person you networked with and your relationship to that person.
  • Say that you are looking for a job.
  • Ask about job openings.
  • Say thank you.
