Just add “-ed”.
Acrescente “-ed”.
start → started
end → ended
watch → watched
Verbs that end with the vowel "-e", add just "-d".
Verbos terminados em "-e", acrescente apenas "-d".
like → liked
dance → danced
love → loved
hate → hated
One-syllable verbs that end with consonant + vowel + consonant, double the last consonant and add “-ed”.
Verbos monossilábicos terminados em consoante + vogal + consoante, dobre a consoante final e acrescente “-ed”.
hug → hugged
plan → planned
Two-syllable verbs that end with consonant + vowel + consonant, with the stress on the last syllable, double the last consonant and add “-ed”.
Verbos dissilábicos terminados em consoante + vogal + consoante, com a última sílaba tônica, dobre a consoante final e acrescente “-ed”.
prefer → preferred
permit → permitted
Exceptions:  “w, x, y”
Exceções: “w, x, y”
row → rowed
fix → fixed
play → played
Verbs that end with a consonant and “-y”, remove the “-y” and add “-ied”.
Verbos terminados em consoante e “-y”, elimine “-y” e acrescente “-ied”.
apply → applied
study → studied

Verbs that end with a vowel + "-y", just add "-ed".
Verbos terminados em vogal e “-y”, apenas acrescente "-ed".
